TMO Reaches 11.5 Million Tons in Grain Purchases

Minister of Agriculture and Forestry İbrahim Yumaklı announced that TMO has purchased 11.5 million tons of grain, with over 33 billion Turkish Liras paid to producers.
Minister of Agriculture and Forestry İbrahim Yumaklı stated during a wheat harvest event in Karabük that the Turkish Grain Board (TMO) has made a total of 11.5 million tons of grain purchases. According to ministry data, the overall completion rate for the wheat harvest has reached 93%, with wheat constituting the majority of the delivered product, followed by barley.
Based on TMO data, the purchase price for wheat was set at 16.5 Turkish Liras per kilogram this season, and for barley, it was 12.75 Turkish Liras per kilogram. The institution noted that 33 billion 71 million Turkish Liras have been paid to producers so far. In the 2023 period, TMO had purchased 13.1 million tons and paid 101 billion Turkish Liras to producers.
