Over 343,000 Unapproved Food Products Seized in Bursa

Gendarmerie and food control teams seized over 343,000 dietary supplements and weight loss products lacking ministry approval during a joint operation at an unlicensed warehouse in Bursa.
A total of 343,630 products lacking Ministry approval were identified during a joint inspection conducted by the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry's General Directorate of Food and Control and gendarmerie teams in Bursa. During the checks, 184,610 units of weight loss tea, 21,600 units of weight loss coffee, and 137,420 units of dietary supplements were found. It was also determined that the inspected business had no official warehouse activity registration.
Control teams took samples from the products that violated regulations for analysis and initiated legal proceedings against those responsible. The products, whose market supply has been blocked, were seized by the Gendarmerie Command, while officials noted that field inspections will continue with determination to ensure the supply of safe food.
