Amid global oil fluctuations and currency exchange rate impacts, diesel prices increased by 2.92 TL per liter and gasoline by 2.74 TL, pushing diesel prices above 84 TL per liter in major cities.
New Wave of Price Hikes Hits Fuel
Volatility in global Brent crude oil prices, currency exchange rate fluctuations, and Special Consumption Tax (SCT) adjustments have directly driven up retail fuel prices. According to industry data, following a 2 lira 92 kuruş per liter increase reflected in diesel prices, a new price hike of 2 lira 74 kuruş has been implemented for gasoline. The price increases, effective from midnight, have pushed up the prices of essential fuel components directly impacting tractor usage in agricultural production and transportation costs.
Current Fuel Price Table in Major Cities
Following the implemented price hikes, as of August 25, 2026, gasoline reached 74.26 TL, diesel 82.73 TL, and LPG 33.79 TL on the European side of Istanbul. On the Anatolian side of Istanbul, gasoline was priced at 74.11 TL, diesel at 82.58 TL, and LPG at 33.19 TL. In the capital city of Ankara, gasoline was sold at 75.23 TL, diesel at 83.83 TL, and LPG at 33.89 TL, while in Izmir, gasoline was pumped at 75.53 TL, diesel at 84.12 TL, and LPG at 33.79 TL.
