DB Tarımsal Enerji's contract safflower production, conducted in 6 provinces, concluded its 2025-2026 season harvest with a yield exceeding 3,000 tons over 35,000 decares.
The 2025-2026 harvest season for the domestic biofuel raw material production project, carried out by DB Tarımsal Enerji, concluded with activities in the Bozüyük district of Bilecik. A contract model with a purchase guarantee was implemented in the production carried out in the fields of Ankara, Konya, Eskişehir, Bilecik, Afyonkarahisar, and Kütahya. According to data shared by the company, the activities conducted on approximately 35,000 decares with 232 producers resulted in a yield exceeding 3,000 tons. It was noted that yields ranging from 105 to 225 kilograms per decare were achieved throughout the season.
Safflower production, which opens up an additional income stream for farmers by utilizing fallow and arid lands, has also made a tangible contribution to the national economy. According to DB Tarımsal Enerji's calculations, the total economic volume reached approximately $3.6 million with the processing of the harvested product into oil and feed meal. The crude oil obtained is directed to the biofuel sector, while the remaining meal is utilized in the feed industry, creating import substitution. The company continues to strengthen domestic raw material supply with this integrated approach.
DB Tarımsal Enerji Agricultural Projects Manager Nezih Suyaran emphasized that the model is not just about raw material production, stating:

Stating the sectoral contribution of this integrated structure, Nezih Suyaran made the following assessment:
Evaluating the production results in Bozüyük, Bilecik, Bozüyük District Agriculture Director İsmail Aksu drew attention to the arid nature of the region and limited irrigation possibilities. İsmail Aksu stated:
Aksu emphasized that cultivated agricultural lands are a national asset and highlighted the importance of alternative income sources. The low maintenance requirement and climate resilience make safflower an ideal option for arid lands.

Touching upon the plant's contribution to fallow lands, Süleyman Çaydere summarized the process:
DB Tarımsal Enerji aims to increase its production area to 100,000 decares in the 2026-2027 planting season, continuing the project it has been conducting under ISCC EU standards since 2023.
