Agricultural Supports and Market Regulation Discussed in Denizli

Sector stakeholders, convened under the coordination of the Denizli Provincial Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry, evaluated rural development investments for 2026, the IPARD III call calendar, and regulatory efforts by TMO and ESK.
Rural Development and Irrigation Supports
Current agricultural topics of the region were discussed at the August Consultation Meeting chaired by Denizli Provincial Director of Agriculture and Forestry, Mustafa Nevzat Zayim. The 2026 Rural Development Investments Program and Efficient Irrigation Systems supports announced by the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry constituted the primary agenda of the meeting. While aiming for producers to access modern irrigation infrastructure and benefit from rural grants at the highest level, the 2026 call calendar within the scope of the IPARD III Program, carried out by the Agricultural and Rural Development Support Institution, was also evaluated in detail.
Market Regulation and TMO Purchases
Field studies conducted for the stability of the region's crop and livestock product markets were comprehensively reviewed at the meeting. The grain and poppy capsule purchase and poppy seed purchase processes carried out by the Turkish Grain Board (TMO) Denizli Regional Directorate were reviewed. In addition, activities carried out by the Meat and Milk Institution (ESK) regarding its meat stock status in the region and within the framework of raw milk regulation were discussed, and steps to protect the market security of producers were consulted.
Food Security and Livestock Projects
In the final part of the meeting, critical topics concerning livestock, plant health, and wildlife were discussed. Efforts for the Secure Electronic Tagging and Monitoring System for tracking animal health and fish stocking activities in inland waters were evaluated. Furthermore, pre-harvest pesticide inspections for 2026, the expansion of aflatoxin analyses in spices, and preparations for the 2026-2027 hunting season by the Directorate of Nature Conservation and National Parks were addressed, and it was decided to strengthen inter-institutional coordination.
