Touching upon the critical role of protected cultivation in the national strategy, Minister İbrahim Yumaklı announced that Turkey ranks 4th in the world and 2nd in Europe in terms of greenhouse capacity and production volume. According to data from the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, greenhouses in Turkey produce an annual 8.3 million tons of vegetables and 1 million tons of fruit. Minister Yumaklı pointed out that these modern investments directly strengthen not only the domestic market balance but also export potential. With the spread of organized agricultural regions and modern greenhouses, the country's capacity for uninterrupted, high-standard agricultural production throughout the year, regardless of climatic conditions, is reaching higher levels each year.
Drawing attention to the support mechanisms provided to producers, Yumaklı stated that through the Closed Environment Registration System, implemented this production year, protected cultivation operations have begun to benefit directly from agricultural support.
