Ministry Increases Cattle Breeding Support Amounts

The Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry has raised the basic calf support to 2,000 Turkish Lira and the calf support to 4,000 Turkish Lira in cattle breeding.

Calf and Calf Support Increased

Within the scope of the new regulation announced by the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, cattle breeding support amounts have been significantly increased. With the new decision, the basic calf support has been raised from 1,400 Lira to 2,000 Lira, while the calf support, previously 2,800 Lira, has been increased to 4,000 Lira. With this direct increase in resources provided to producers, it is aimed to alleviate the input costs of livestock enterprises and strengthen Turkey's food supply security.

Improvement and Raw Milk Incentives

Along with the new support model, comprehensive additional supports have been defined for the first time for qualified genetic improvement applications. According to the Ministry's statement, an additional payment of 5,000 Lira will be made for calves born from embryo transfer, and 5,000 Lira for calves born from the use of sexed semen. An additional support of 1,000 Lira will be provided for calves born from beef breed semen insemination, and an additional premium will be provided to raw milk producers who deliver their products to processing facilities with professionally certified personnel.
