· TMO

The Turkish Grain Board (TMO) has set paddy purchase prices for the 2026 season between 32,000 TL and 45,000 TL per ton, announcing that payments will be made within 21 days.
TMO Announces New Paddy Prices
The Turkish Grain Board (TMO), affiliated with the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, announced the 2026 season paddy purchase prices, which producers have been eagerly awaiting, on October 13. According to the institution's official announcement, the purchase price ranges, which are considered a reference in the market, have been detailed by variety. The announcement stated that the aim is to maintain market balance and prevent producer grievances as the harvest season begins. It was noted that an appointment mechanism will be in place to allow producers to deliver their products, and the published purchase list offers a critical indicator for free market conditions.
Purchase Figures Determined by Variety
According to the official data shared by TMO, the highest purchase price was realized in the Baldo group at 45,000 TL per ton, or 45 TL per kilogram. Looking at other announced price ranges, the purchase price for Cammeo paddy was set at 43,000 TL per ton, and for the Toros group, it was 41,000 TL per ton. The Osmancık group, one of the most widely cultivated types in Turkey, was listed for purchase at 38,000 TL/ton, and the Ronaldo variety at 35,000 TL/ton. The institution announced the base purchase amount for other long-grain paddy varieties as 32,000 TL per ton.

Product Yield and Delivery Conditions
For the purchase price ranges announced by the Turkish Grain Board to be fully applicable, the products must meet specific yield criteria. According to the institution's data, a 55% yield is required for the Baldo group, and a 58% yield for Cammeo and Toros varieties. For Osmancık and Ronaldo varieties, the purchase price is calculated based on a 60% yield, while a 65% yield standard is applied to other long varieties. Final delivery prices may vary based on technical evaluations of the paddy's yield value and physical characteristics brought by the producer to the institution.
Payment Dates and Process
The Turkish Grain Board announced that paddy purchases for the 2026 season have effectively begun across Turkey as of October 15. According to the institution's official delivery procedures, farmers who deliver their products to licensed warehouses or the institution's provincial offices will be paid according to a predetermined schedule. The announcement stated that product payments will begin to be deposited into producers' bank accounts starting from the 21st day following the delivery date. It was also stated that producers can verify their account activity and purchase documents directly through the TMO system.

Price Changes Compared to Last Year
According to TMO data, the 2026 prices show different increase rates by variety when compared to the previous period's figures announced in January 2025. The Baldo paddy price increased by 12.5%, rising from 40,000 TL per ton to 45,000 TL. The Cammeo price increased by approximately 13.2%, rising from 38,000 TL to 43,000 TL. The highest increase in the announced table was observed in the most widely cultivated Osmancık variety; the price was raised from 32,000 TL per ton to 38,000 TL, marking an 18.75% price increase.
Gross Income Calculations Per Decare
According to calculation models based on the announced official purchase prices, the gross income a producer will earn directly depends on the yield level obtained per decare. In a farm where 500 kilograms of product are obtained per decare, the Osmancık group yields 19,000 TL, Cammeo yields 21,500 TL, and the Baldo variety yields 22,500 TL in gross revenue. If the yield increases to 600 kilograms per decare, the Osmancık return reaches 22,800 TL, Cammeo reaches 25,800 TL, and Baldo reaches 27,000 TL. In high-yield areas where the yield reaches 800 kilograms per decare, the gross return for Baldo group paddy rises up to 36,000 TL.
Producer's Costs and Net Profit
According to expert analyses and parameters shared by the institution, gross income calculations per decare do not directly reflect the producer's net profit. To determine the farmer's final profitability, operational expenses such as diesel, fertilizer, certified seeds, irrigation, agricultural spraying, harvesting, transportation, and land rent must be deducted from the revenue. Due to variations in input costs across production areas, it is important for each producer to clarify their own unit costs. Producers are reminded to develop their sales strategies by comparing TMO floor prices with free market conditions and cost balances.
