Fire Starting in Muğla Hits Greenhouses and Forest in Antalya
· Dünya Gazetesi

A fire that started in an agricultural area in Muğla's Seydikemer district and spread to Antalya's Kaş district damaged greenhouses, prompting the evacuation of two neighborhoods.
Flames Spread from Agricultural Areas to Forest
The fire, which began in an agricultural area near Korubükü village in Muğla's Seydikemer district, spread rapidly over a large area due to the strong wind. The flames, which intensified around the Saklıkent Canyon, crossed the river with the fierce north wind and spread to the forested area in Antalya's Kaş district. The General Directorate of Forestry shared the following information regarding the on-site response in its institutional statement:
"We are responding to the fire that started in a non-forest area in Muğla's Seydikemer district and spread to Antalya's Kaş district with 4 aircraft, 15 helicopters, 72 fire trucks, 6 heavy machinery, and 450 personnel. Our struggle to bring the fire under control as soon as possible continues."
Greenhouses Damaged and Neighborhoods Evacuated
As a result of the rapid progression of the fire, critical moments were experienced in the Palamut and Çavdır neighborhoods. Due to the flames reaching the center of the settlements, some homes and greenhouses, which are significant protected cultivation facilities in the region, were burned and damaged in the evacuated neighborhoods for safety reasons. Intense aerial and ground intervention by teams continues uninterrupted to prevent the flames from spreading further to agricultural areas and residential areas.
