Tomato Harvest Begins at 1500 Meters Altitude in Adana

The first tomato harvest has been gathered from a one-decare greenhouse established at an altitude of 1500 meters in Adana's Saimbeyli district, with entrepreneurs targeting a yield exceeding 20 tons for the entire season.
Successful Greenhouse Harvest at High Altitude
Hüseyin Bulanık and his daughter Zeynep Bulanık have harvested their first tomatoes from a greenhouse they established at an altitude of 1500 meters in Yeniköy neighborhood of Adana's Saimbeyli district. In the undercover facility, consisting of two tunnels and established on approximately 1 decare of land, 2,500 tomato seedlings were planted. The entrepreneurs, proving that agricultural production can be carried out at high altitudes, are targeting a yield exceeding 20 tons for the entire season. Following the summer tomato harvest, lettuce and spinach production is planned for the winter months.
New Production Era in Regional Agriculture
Saimbeyli Mayor Mahmut Dal, who attended the first harvest event and congratulated the producers, stated that the initiative is a turning point for the district's agriculture. Drawing attention to the importance of the initiative, Saimbeyli Mayor Mahmut Dal made the following remarks:
"You have seen the area where this greenhouse is located. Our greenhouse is built on one decare. We have a one-decare greenhouse consisting of two tunnels. What is important here is not actually the product grown or the activity carried out. It is the first courage shown, the first step taken at an altitude of 1,500 meters."
