Ministry Transfers 450 Million Lira in Support Payments to Farmers

The Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry has transferred a total of 450 million 11 thousand 586 liras in agricultural support payments to producers' accounts, with 375.7 million liras allocated for animal disease compensation.

450 Million in Resources for Producers

Minister of Agriculture and Forestry İbrahim Yumaklı announced that a total of 450 million 11 thousand 586 liras in agricultural support payments for farmers would be transferred to their accounts. The payments, confirmed by the Ministry's official statement dated September 4, are being credited to producers' bank accounts within the day. Minister Yumaklı, sharing on his social media account, stated that they are always with the producers operating across Anatolia through the cash support provided. While expressing hope that the relevant support package will bring prosperity to farmers, the payments aim to directly contribute to agricultural sustainability.

Animal Compensation and Rural Development

The livestock sector received the lion's share of the announced support package. According to Ministry data, 375 million 709 thousand 43 liras, representing approximately 83.5% of the total amount, was provided to breeders as animal disease compensation support. Under rural development investments support, which constitutes the second significant part of the package, 74 million 302 thousand 543 liras were transferred to producers. These payments aim to preserve production capacity in rural areas, accelerate agricultural industry investments, and compensate for the losses of breeders affected by epidemic diseases.

Support Payments in August

Prior to September, the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry had also made comprehensive support payments to farmers in August. Within this framework, a package of 688 million 200 thousand liras offered to producers on August 7 included 530 million 153 thousand 18 liras for animal disease compensation, 131 million 11 thousand 482 liras for rural development, and 27 million 35 thousand 500 liras for animal genetic resources. Immediately after, on August 14, an additional support payment of 110.5 million liras, covering crop production and planned production, was credited to producer accounts.
