Field inspections continue in Hatay with the aim of securing animal health and raising biosecurity standards. Within this scope, Deputy Provincial Director of Agriculture and Forestry Mehmet Emin Uzun and Head of Animal Health and Breeding Branch Ulvi Burak Sarcan visited a livestock farm operating in the Hassa district. Officials shared the field steps and technical application processes of the New Disease-Free Herd Model with producers within the framework of the legislation that came into effect on July 24, 2026.

The ongoing studies aim to increase the number of disease-free herds across the province and strengthen the sustainable livestock infrastructure. The widespread adoption of disease-free status contributes directly to the protection of public health by preventing zoonotic diseases. Furthermore, with the developed new model, it is aimed to sustain the quality and productivity in meat and milk production by raising biosecurity standards.
