TARSIM Disburses 6.6 Billion Lira in Crop Damage Payments to Farmers

TARSIM secured 1.1 trillion lira worth of agricultural assets by paying 6.6 billion lira in compensation to farmers affected by natural disasters in the first seven months of 2026.
Billions in Damage Support for Producers
According to data from the Agricultural Insurance Pool (TARSIM), a total of 6.6 billion TL in damage payments were made to farmers affected by natural disasters during the first seven months of 2026. Between January and July, approximately 2 million policies were issued across all branches, bringing the total value of insured agricultural assets to 1.1 trillion TL. This financial protection provided by the institution directly contributes to the continuation of sustainability in production.
Agricultural Assets Secured Against Climate Risks
According to the official data released, 24 million decares of agricultural land and 17.6 million cattle and small ruminants were brought under the insurance umbrella during the same period. Risks such as frost, hail, storms, floods, and drought, which are becoming more frequent due to climate change, are increasing the strategic importance of agricultural insurance. The financial losses of agricultural producers arising from adverse weather conditions are being secured through the policy system.
