TÜRKŞEKER Launches New Campaign Period at Ilgın and Ereğli

The 2026-2027 beet processing season at TÜRKŞEKER's Ilgın and Ereğli Sugar Factories has officially commenced with ceremonies.

The 2026-2027 beet processing campaign at the Ilgın and Ereğli Sugar Factories, operating under Türkiye Şeker Fabrikaları A.Ş. (TÜRKŞEKER), officially started on September 17, 2026, with ceremonies. Factory Manager Hasan Ergün attended the ceremony in Ereğli, and Factory Manager Mevlüt Dülger attended the ceremony in Ilgın, conveying General Manager Dr. Muhiddin Şahin's messages of success to the producers. Following the ceremonies, the first sugar beets, delivered by producers from the Konya region, were accepted into the facilities with prayers, and the new processing period was officially launched.

According to data shared by TÜRKŞEKER, the Ilgın Sugar Factory, which began production in 1982, has reached a daily beet processing capacity of 8,100 tons as a result of modernization investments. The Ereğli Sugar Factory, which started operations in 1989, conducts production activities for an average of 140 days a year. The institution's official data indicates that the Ereğli facility produces an average of 1,170 tons of sugar daily and an annual average of 163,000 tons of sugar.

TÜRKŞEKER's 2026-2027 production period was first initiated at the Malatya Sugar Factory on September 3, 2026, with the participation of General Manager Dr. Muhiddin Şahin. Evaluating the production mobilization process, TÜRKŞEKER Chairman of the Board and General Manager Dr. Muhiddin Şahin made the following statement:

It is aimed that the beets to be processed in the facilities will directly contribute to Turkey's sugar supply security and meet consumption needs.
