Hatay Metropolitan Municipality purchased 100 tons of mandarins from local citrus growers to support them, distributing the fruit to students in schools across the province.
Hatay Metropolitan Municipality distributed 100 tons of mandarins to students receiving education in schools across the province. Through this project, initiated as a gesture by Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mehmet Öntürk, the aim was to directly utilize the products of local citrus producers and prevent potential economic losses that farmers might face. Within the scope of this initiative, both fresh fruit consumption among children was encouraged, and direct market support was provided to producers.
Municipal officials announced that steps to protect the labor of producers and utilize agricultural products for the benefit of society will continue. The goal is to strengthen rural development in the region through ongoing social support projects.
