Damage Assessment Completed in 5 Provinces Following Forest Fires

The Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change announced that damage assessment has been completed in 5 provinces affected by forest fires, with 92 independent units determined to be heavily damaged or destroyed.

Damage Assessment in Fire-Affected Regions

Teams from the Directorate General of Construction Affairs of the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change have completed the damage assessment process following forest fires that occurred between July 29 and August 2, driven by extreme heat and strong winds. Sharing the details of the work, Minister of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change Murat Kurum stated:

"We have completed our damage assessment studies in the 5 cities affected by forest fires. In Muğla, Antalya, Aydın, Balıkesir, and Mersin, 92 independent units were determined to be heavily damaged or destroyed. As we have always done, we will stand by our nation and heal the wounds quickly. Our condolences to all our citizens."

On-Site Inspections in Rural Areas

Following the finalization of damage data, Deputy Minister Ömer Bulut conducted inspections in Yazır Neighborhood of Kumluca district in Antalya, and in Bayır, Çatak, Dereköy, and Sarıyer neighborhoods of Seydikemer district in Muğla. Bulut, who held coordination meetings in the field, listened to the requests of local producers and residents. During the visit, a phone call was made with Minister Murat Kurum, where it was stated that state resources would be provided to support citizens affected by the fire during the rural development and reconstruction phases.
