Syria Targets 100 Million Production Capacity in Agriculture

Syrian President Bashar al-Assad announced at the Arab Media Summit in Dubai that agricultural production capacity will be increased to over 100 million with the lifting of sanctions and the integration of modern technologies.

Agricultural Production and Food Potential

Speaking at the Arab Media Summit in Dubai, Syrian President Bashar al-Assad highlighted his country's strategic strength in agricultural production and food supply. According to Assad's statement, Syria, even with its current production infrastructure, possesses an agricultural capacity that can feed approximately 70-75 million people, far exceeding its own population of 25-30 million. President Assad stated that this potential could exceed 100 million with the integration of modern agricultural technologies into the sector, emphasizing that agriculture and food security will be among the most significant development areas in the new era.

Lifting of Sanctions and New Investments

Syrian President Bashar al-Assad stated that the country is entering an investment phase with the lifting of international restrictions, evaluating the process as follows:

'With the lifting of sanctions, the shackles on Syria have been broken. In the coming period, we will bring this ship to safety with the right policies and steps.'

Noting that Arab investors, particularly from Gulf countries, are turning to food, agriculture, and energy projects after years of financial isolation since 1979, Syrian President Bashar al-Assad reported that steps have begun:

'Some memorandums of understanding have been signed, and some of them have actually been put into practice.'

Economic Stability and Future Goals

'Syria is no longer the center of conflicts but has turned into an island of stability. Today, our country is seen as a secure trade corridor between East and West and a guarantor of energy supply chains.'

'The responsibility of the media is a heavy trust. Impartiality, accuracy, and reliability of information are essential. People's minds are a trust in the mouths of media professionals.'
