Sugar Beet Producers Call for Support in Sweetener Investigation

Hüseyin Akay, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Kayseri Sugar Beet Producers Cooperative, announced their full support for the investigation into the production and trade of starch-based sugar. Akay stated that the inquiries should not be limited to the current framework and called for the inclusion of chemical sweeteners within the scope of the investigation.
Akay drew attention to the fact that irregular market practices cause serious harm to both beet producers and public health, emphasizing that the process is a critical threshold for protecting farmers' rights. Akay also thanked the Presidency, the Ministry of Justice, and the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry for the operation and the investigation conducted.
