Meteorology Issues Severe Storm Warning for 15 Provinces

The General Directorate of Meteorology issued a yellow code warning for 15 cities due to heavy rainfall expected in the Black Sea and storms anticipated in Marmara and the Northern Aegean.
Heavy Rainfall Warning for the Black Sea
According to the latest weather forecast report shared by the General Directorate of Meteorology, a partly cloudy to very cloudy sky will dominate the northern parts of Turkey and the Mediterranean belt. Rainfall is expected to intensify in some areas, particularly around Sinop, Samsun, Ordu, and Giresun. Authorities have advised agricultural producers and local residents to take precautions against risks such as flash floods, inundation, landslides, lightning, and transportation disruptions.
Storm Alert in Marmara and Aegean
It was noted that temperatures will slightly decrease in the northern regions while continuing to remain above seasonal norms in the southern regions. Strong northwesterly winds, occasionally reaching storm force, are expected across the Marmara region and the Northern Aegean. According to data from the General Directorate of Meteorology, wind speeds are estimated to reach up to 60 to 80 kilometers per hour, and attention has been drawn to potential adverse effects of the storm.
Regional Temperatures and Yellow Code
The institution issued a yellow code meteorological warning for a total of 15 cities, including Balıkesir, Bursa, Çanakkale, Edirne, Istanbul, İzmir, Kırklareli, Kocaeli, Manisa, Ordu, Sakarya, Samsun, Sinop, Tekirdağ, and Yalova. Daily temperatures are expected to be measured around 30°C in Istanbul with rainfall, 32°C in Ankara with localized afternoon showers, and 38°C in Izmir, where clear weather is expected to continue.
