Animal Science Student Manages Flock in Uşak Highlands

Officials from the Provincial Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry visited a 240-head small ruminant operation in Paşacık Highlands, Banaz district of Uşak, to inspect on-site production conditions for young farmers.
Small Ruminant Production Inspected in the Highlands
Uşak Provincial Director of Agriculture and Forestry Serkan Bilir visited the farm belonging to producer Ahmet Coşkun, who is engaged in small ruminant farming in Paşacık Highlands, Banaz district. The care, feeding, and breeding conditions at the operation, which houses 240 small ruminant animals according to Uşak Provincial Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry data, were inspected on-site. The visit was also attended by Tahsin Akgün, Headman of Balcıdamı Village, Kemal Demirtaş, Headman of Paşacık Village, and Mahmut Atlen, Headman of Çiftlik Village, who conveyed the agricultural production demands of the region to the officials.
From Computer Games to Real Farming
Osman Coşkun, a 3rd-year Animal Science student at the Faculty of Agriculture who is involved in farming at the operation, stated that he practically started livestock farming in 2021 and is pursuing his childhood passion, saying:
'It was my dream since childhood. During my primary school years, there were... agriculture and livestock games, computer games. Since we were computer kids, I used to play their games.'
Osman Coşkun expressed his feelings about continuing in the sector after completing his education with the following words:
'I am currently realizing my dreams.'
