Rize Launches Applications for Breeding Cattle Support for Producers

Rize Provincial Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry has initiated the allocation process for beef cattle packages consisting of 16 animals to strengthen the breeding stock of small family farms.

New Era in Breeding Cattle Allocation

The Rize Provincial Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry has launched the application process for the 'Let's Have a Herd' Project, spearheaded by the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, aiming to strengthen the breeding stock of livestock farms and uplift small-scale producers. Pregnant beef cattle, to be procured by the General Directorate of the Meat and Milk Institution, will be allocated to producers in packages of 16 animals, consisting of 15 pregnant beef breed heifers and 1 breeding bull. Producers can request a minimum of 1 and a maximum of 3 groups; requests for second and third groups will be met if animals remain in the general quota.

Application Conditions and Collateral Details

To benefit from the project, breeders must be citizens of the Republic of Turkey, be at least 18 years old, and have a maximum farm capacity of 200 head registered in the TÜRKVET system. Additionally, the farm must have been registered under the applicant's name for at least one year. Applications from public employees and legal entities will not be accepted. Only one person from the same household can apply for the program. Breeders are required to deposit 3,000 TL collateral per animal requested into the relevant account of the Meat and Milk Institution in their own name; collateral will be refunded to those who do not make the main list.

Application Calendar and Evaluation Criteria

Applications for the support program can be made in person or via a proxy with notarized authorization to the Provincial or District Directorates of Agriculture and Forestry where the farm is located, between November 4-13, 2026. Priority in the evaluation of applications will be given to women and young farmers, family farms, and industry professionals. Evaluation lists will be posted for objections between November 18-19, and the final main and reserve beneficiaries will be announced on November 30, 2026.
