Veteran Producer Plants 950 Olive Saplings in Adana

Gökhan Doğan, who became a veteran in Diyarbakır and later graduated from agricultural faculty, has started modern olive production on a 25-decare land in Adana.

Gökhan Doğan, 41, who became a veteran in 2008 while serving as a sergeant in the Lice district of Diyarbakır, has been working as a civil servant at Adana Seyhan State Hospital since 2011. Doğan, a father of two, continued his education uninterruptedly throughout his working life, completing his undergraduate degree in Business Administration at Anadolu University and then his master's degree at Adana Alparslan Türkeş Science and Technology University. Driven by his deep connection to the soil, Doğan graduated from Dicle University's Faculty of Agriculture, Department of Plant Protection in 2018 and decided to bring his academic knowledge to the field.

Doğan, who started agricultural production in the Hocalı neighborhood of Adana's Sarıçam district, initially purchased 8 decares of land. To expand his project, the producer also leased 17 decares of state-owned land, completing the necessary infrastructure arrangements on a total of 25 decares. Doğan planted 950 olive saplings on this prepared land and dedicates all his free time, outside of his official duties, to the care of his olive grove.

Doğan plans to achieve the first harvest from the modern olive orchard he established within approximately 3 years and aims to further develop his production capacity each season.
