TMO Announces Hazelnut Purchase Appointment and Payment Schedule

The Turkish Grain Board (TMO) announced that producer payments for hazelnut purchases, which began in Ordu, will be made starting from the 21st day, and the purchasing period will continue until December 31st.
TMO Initiates Hazelnut Purchase Process
Toprak Mahsulleri Ofisi (TMO) General Manager Ahmet Güldal inspected a warehouse where hazelnut purchases are ongoing in Altınordu district of Ordu. Stating that the institution has been tasked with hazelnut purchases for the 15th time by presidential decree and for 10 consecutive years since 2017, TMO General Manager Ahmet Güldal said:
"We have strived with all our might to fulfill the given duty as an institution. Thank God, this continuity continues."
TMO General Manager Ahmet Güldal stated that they have left behind a period of high yield in grains and legumes and added:
"It is the same for hazelnuts. Grains and legumes are among TMO's primary duties. We are nearing the end of the harvest season for those products. We had a very fertile and high-yield season, and we made very high purchases."
Güldal announced that purchases began on August 24th and expressed that the supply of products to the market will accelerate in the coming days as drying processes are completed.
A Red Line for Last Year's Harvest
Drawing attention to the competence of the institution's experts working at the purchase points, TMO General Manager Ahmet Güldal made the following statement:
"TMO's experts are highly competent in hazelnut purchases. They have trained themselves very well. In this regard, we have no shortcomings or problems."
TMO General Manager Ahmet Güldal stated that producers are complying with the appointment system and said:
"We opened our appointments a week in advance. Our producers have also learned the appointment system. They have started bringing their products by making appointments for suitable days through TMO's appointment system. In the first few days, there is less product supply due to drying, but this amount will increase in the coming days. We have made our preparations and will continue to purchase until the last producer brings their product."
Güldal completed his remarks by warning that old crops should not be mixed with new products:
"Because there will be a possibility of return. Last year's products will absolutely not be accepted."
Payment Schedule and Purchase Period
Ahmet Güldal stated that the producer payments and purchase schedule have been clarified, noting that the financing and storage infrastructure are complete. Regarding the process of transferring product payments to accounts, TMO General Manager Ahmet Güldal provided the following information:
"This year, we are paying product prices starting from the 21st day for all products. TMO has a purchasing duty until December 31st. We have completed our preparations in terms of storage, finance, and personnel to purchase all products that come to us. Hopefully, 2026 will be a productive and fertile season for hazelnuts, just as it has begun."
MHP Ordu Deputy Naci Şanlıtürk, who was present during the inspections, also stated that producers delivering their products to TMO is important for market stability.
