AK Party Malatya Deputy İnanç Siraç Kara Ölmeztoprak met with Malatya Provincial Director of Agriculture and Forestry Osman Akar to discuss agricultural activities in the city. During the meeting, Malatya's agricultural production capacity, support provided to producers, and sustainability were comprehensively evaluated. Emphasizing that agriculture is the lifeblood of the city's economy, Ölmeztoprak stated that protecting rural development and producer labor is a critical priority.

One of the main agenda items of the meeting was the severe flood disaster in the Hekimhan district. According to information shared by İnanç Siraç Kara Ölmeztoprak, apricots produced in an area of approximately 11,000 decares around Kocaözü were severely damaged after being swept away by floodwaters on drying racks following the harvest. It was reported that the Provincial Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry teams are meticulously carrying out damage assessment studies, and the prepared reports will be submitted to the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry.
Flood Risk and Disaster Prevention Measures
Following the devastation caused by the flood in Kocaözü and Güzelyurt neighborhoods, the condition of the stream beds and future flood risks were evaluated. It was stated that local administrations and relevant institutions need to develop permanent infrastructure measures in coordination to prevent similar grievances from recurring. Furthermore, it was noted that the processes underway to address the grievances of farmers affected by storm and hail in Topsöğüt neighborhood are being closely monitored.
