Bilecik Exports Entire Nectarine Production

As peach and nectarine harvesting begins in Bilecik's Osmaneli district, it has been reported that all nectarines produced in the province are exported to international markets.
Record Peach Harvest in Bilecik
Peach and nectarine harvesting has intensely begun in Çerkeşli Village, located in Bilecik's Osmaneli district. Bilecik Governor Faik Oktay Sözer, who personally participated in the harvest work in the region, met with farmers and inspected the activities carried out in cold storage facilities. Conveying the data from the Provincial Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry, Bilecik Governor Faik Oktay Sözer made the following statement:
"According to the data from the Provincial Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry, peach production in Bilecik province reaches 63,489 tons from 18,804 decares, while nectarine production is realized as 10,625 tons from 4,200 decares."
High Yield and Export Success
Emphasizing that Osmaneli is one of the most critical points of production, Bilecik Governor Faik Oktay Sözer shared the yield and export figures with the following words:
"In Osmaneli, one of the important centers of production, 42,529 tons of peaches are produced from 17,250 decares, and 10,625 tons of nectarines are produced from 4,200 decares. An average of 2,400 kilograms of product is obtained per decare from peach and nectarine orchards in their productive age, while the yield per tree varies between 50 and 60 kilograms. Especially in nectarine production, exports are prominent, and all nectarines grown in Bilecik are sent to foreign markets."
