Meteorology Issues Heavy Rainfall and Storm Warning for Critical Regions

The General Directorate of Meteorology announced that heavy rainfall and winds of up to 60 kilometers per hour are expected in many regions, particularly in the Eastern Mediterranean, Eastern Black Sea, and Eastern Anatolia.
Critical Regions Expecting Heavy Rainfall
According to the latest weather forecast report shared by the General Directorate of Meteorology, cloudy to partly cloudy skies with scattered clouds are persisting across Turkey. Locally very heavy rainfall is expected in the Toroslar region of the Eastern Mediterranean, the coastal and inland areas of the Eastern Black Sea except for Giresun, Erzincan, Erzurum, Kars and Ardahan, and the eastern parts of Niğde, Kayseri, and Sivas. It was also reported that thunderstorms and heavy rainfall could pose a local risk in the southern and inner Aegean regions and the inland areas of the Western Black Sea, where agricultural activities are ongoing.
Storm Speeds to Reach 60 Kilometers Per Hour
While temperatures across the country are expected to remain at seasonal norms, winds are announced to intensify in specific basins. According to data from the General Directorate of Meteorology, winds blowing from the northeast in the southeastern Marmara and Northern Aegean, and from the southwest in southeastern Eastern Anatolia, are predicted to reach speeds of 40 to 60 kilometers per hour. Officials have advised producers to act cautiously against the risks of overturning, flying debris, and flooding for agricultural greenhouses, cultivated fields, and crops during the harvest period.
