Pregnant Heifer Inspections in Biga
Field inspections were carried out in the Biga district of Çanakkale within the scope of the Rural Prosperity, Livestock Support Project, initiated by the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry to strengthen rural production and increase the breeding stock. Within the scope of Stage 1, Group 12 of the Ministry's project, the barns of producers who received beef breed pregnant heifers were meticulously inspected by expert teams. During the inspections, which were attended by Biga District Agriculture and Forestry Manager Fevzi Atmaca and veterinarians, the health status and feeding conditions of the animals were evaluated on-site and recorded.
Comprehensive Visits to Farms in Villages
In line with the field studies conducted across the district, technical visits were made to livestock farms in the villages of Ahmetler, Ağaköy, and Şakirbey. During the inspections, the housing conditions of the breeding animals on the farms belonging to Şaziye Turhan in Ahmetler Village, Mustafa Tursak in Ağaköy, and Elif Şen in Şakirbey Village were checked. Veterinarians examined the development of the pregnant heifers, care standards, and the suitability of their living spaces for the project, completing technical assessment and documentation processes. The teams also met with the breeders to listen to their needs and demands regarding production processes.
Rural Development and Sustainability
Officials from the Biga District Agriculture and Forestry Directorate stated that monitoring the breeding animal support provided to producers in the field is critical for maintaining farm productivity. Biga District Agriculture and Forestry Manager Fevzi Atmaca emphasized the value of these support models for the continuity of rural production and the development of livestock potential. In the statement made by the institution, it was noted that technical field inspections and monitoring activities will continue in the coming days to ensure the healthy rearing of the delivered animals.
