Agricultural Support Coefficients Updated in Favor of Producers

Published in the Official Gazette, coefficients for agricultural support and livestock premiums for the 2026 and 2027 production years have been significantly increased.
Coefficient Increase in Plant Production
With the new regulation published in the Official Gazette, coefficients in the agricultural support model have been updated in favor of producers. Within the scope of the regulation prepared to ensure food supply security and protect farmers against rising input costs, the basic support coefficient value per decare for the 2026 production year has been increased to 367 Turkish Lira. This amount, which was applied as 244 Turkish Lira in the 2025 production year, represents a cumulative increase of 50.4 percent. According to data from the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, the support coefficient value for the 2027 production year, the next step in production planning, has been set at 442 Turkish Lira.
Support Amounts for Strategic Products
The highest increase rate in basic and planned production support on a product basis was observed in the legume group. Planned production support for lentils and chickpeas was increased by 141% to 734 Turkish Lira per decare for 2026 and 1,326 Turkish Lira for 2027. The total support planned at 806 Turkish Lira for wheat, barley, and corn has been revised to 954 Turkish Lira, and it was announced that it will be applied as 1,149 Turkish Lira in 2027. Support for sunflower, beans, soybeans, and canola has been increased to 1,101 Turkish Lira, for cotton to 1,652 Turkish Lira, and for potatoes, onions, and safflower to 734 Turkish Lira. The support for these products in 2027 will be 1,326 Turkish Lira, 1,989 Turkish Lira, and 884 Turkish Lira, respectively.
Certified Seeds and Consultancy
Support for the use of certified seeds to increase productivity has also been significantly raised for the 2027 production year. According to the decision in the Official Gazette, the per-decare seed support has been increased to 442 Turkish Lira with a 101% rise for soybeans and peanuts, to 442 Turkish Lira with a 201% rise for chickpeas and vetch, and to 353.6 Turkish Lira with a 141% increase for lentils. The annual support provided to experts offering agricultural extension and consultancy services, which directly affects agricultural production quality, has also been increased by 40% compared to the previous period, rising from 345,450 Turkish Lira to 483,630 Turkish Lira.
Major Leap in Livestock Support
The basic support items in the livestock sector have seen an average increase of 43%. Within this scope, the basic calf support has been raised from 1,400 Turkish Lira to 2,000 Turkish Lira, calf support to 4,000 Turkish Lira, and lamb and kid support to 430 Turkish Lira. Shepherd employment support has been increased from 81,000 Turkish Lira to 116,100 Turkish Lira, while beekeeping support has reached 250 Turkish Lira per hive for union members. Kilogram support for silkworms has been increased to 1,500 Turkish Lira, and for mohair to 220 Turkish Lira. To prevent offspring losses due to contagious diseases, waste support has been increased by 100% to 20,000 Turkish Lira per calf and 4,000 Turkish Lira per lamb and kid.
Minister Yumaklı's 3-Year Assurance
Evaluating the details of the regulation, Minister of Agriculture and Forestry İbrahim Yumaklı emphasized that announcing the support with 3-year terms and before harvest provides predictability to the producer, stating:
'The decisions we prepared under the leadership of our President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan have been published in the Official Gazette. We have updated the 2026 plant production support to alleviate the burden on our producers in the face of input costs arising from geopolitical tensions and conflicts in the region. With our model centered on our Livestock Roadmap, we stand by our producers in every field, from beekeeping to fisheries. With these steps that prioritize productivity and family businesses, we will add strength to the power of 'Producing Turkey' and continue to support our farmers under all circumstances. May it be beneficial for all our farmers and breeders who work hard from the field to the table.'
