Meteorology Warns: Heavy Rainfall and Storms Approaching

The General Directorate of Meteorology issued a warning for the Black Sea region regarding local hail and floods, and for the Marmara and Aegean regions concerning storms with wind speeds reaching up to 80 kilometers per hour.
Nationwide Heavy Rainfall Alert
The General Directorate of Meteorology has issued a comprehensive warning against expected heavy and thundery showers across a large part of Turkey. According to evaluations by Fevzi Burak Tekin, a Weather Forecasting Specialist at the General Directorate of Meteorology of the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change, precipitation will begin to take effect from Thursday in eastern Marmara, the Black Sea, northern Eastern Anatolia, and the Toros Mountains region of the Mediterranean. It was reported that on Friday and throughout the weekend, heavy showers will spread over a wide area in the Inner Aegean, inner parts of the Mediterranean, and around Kayseri and Niğde.
Flood and Hail Danger in the Black Sea Region
It was stated that the heavy rainfall poses a high risk, particularly in the Black Sea coastal strip. According to data from the General Directorate of Meteorology, precipitation will significantly intensify in the Sinop and Samsun areas on Thursday, and in Giresun province on the night between Thursday and Friday. Fevzi Burak Tekin, a Weather Forecasting Specialist at the General Directorate of Meteorology, urged producers and all citizens to take precautions against potential flash floods, inundations, lightning, severe winds, and local hail showers in the region. Attention was drawn to the potential negative impacts of the hail risk on agricultural lands and cultivated fields.
Storm Warning for Marmara and Aegean
In addition to the rainfall wave, it was announced that winds will increase in speed and turn into a storm. According to data from the General Directorate of Meteorology, winds blowing from the north and northeast are expected to reach speeds of up to 80 kilometers per hour across the Marmara Region and in the vicinity of İzmir and Manisa on Thursday. Authorities warned citizens against potential roof damage, uprooted trees, and transportation disruptions that the expected storm might cause. It was emphasized that seafarers navigating the Sea of Marmara should also be cautious and take precautions against the strong storm.
Expected Temperature Values in Three Major Cities
Fevzi Burak Tekin, a Weather Forecasting Specialist at the General Directorate of Meteorology, shared detailed data regarding the weather conditions in three major cities. According to data from the General Directorate of Meteorology, temperatures in Ankara will be measured at 32 degrees Celsius on Thursday, 30 degrees on Friday, and 28 degrees on Saturday. In İzmir, temperatures will range between 36 and 38 degrees Celsius for three days, with strong winds continuing to be effective. In Istanbul, intermittent rainfall is expected on Thursday and Friday, while temperatures will remain around 28 to 30 degrees Celsius for the three days.
