Fingerlings Released into Water Resources in Konya

As part of a project implemented by the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, fingerlings have been stocked in freshwater resources and ponds across five districts of Konya.
Fingerling Stocking in Ponds
Aquaculture efforts are continuing at full pace across Konya as part of the 'Stocking of Water Resources Project' implemented by the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry. In field activities coordinated by the teams of the Konya Provincial Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry, Fisheries and Aquaculture Branch Directorate, fingerlings were released into various ponds and freshwater resources in the Hüyük, Doğanhisar, Selçuklu, Meram, and Sarayönü districts. Local administrators also participated in the fish release program in the Doğanhisar district, providing direct support to the efforts.
Sustainable Aquaculture Goal
The fish stocking activities carried out aim to protect biodiversity in inland waters, increase fish populations in water resources, and develop sustainable fisheries. In the project, which is being conducted with the participation of Deputy Provincial Directors Esat Altuntaş and İbrahim Töke, and Fisheries and Aquaculture Branch Manager Yücel Doğan, the goal is to maintain the balance of pond ecosystems. Provincial Directorate officials announced that fingerling release efforts to enrich water resources will continue in other districts in line with the determined schedule.
