The General Directorate of Livestock of the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry has shared the details of the feeder male cattle import plan for 2027. According to the Ministry's statement, a total of 480,000 head of feeder male cattle imports will be permitted within the scope of the new allocation for 2027, excluding public institutions and organizations. In the planning, it was decided to allocate 380,000 head of feeder male cattle to farms with a stable capacity of 200 head or more, and 100,000 head to farms below this capacity limit.

Import applications from breeders will be accepted between October 5-16, 2026. The capacity of the farms applying for 2027 will be meticulously audited through the TÜRKVET system. The Ministry stated that applications from farms without current capacity records in the system or with incomplete information will absolutely not be accepted and that records must be updated promptly.
All stages of the import operation will be implemented in coordination with the Meat and Milk Institution (ESK) in accordance with the determined rules. The process, from application, evaluation, quota allocation, import, to the delivery of cattle to farms, will be managed according to the provisions of the Application and Evaluation Directive. The Ministry warned breeders to carefully check their farm capacity data via TÜRKVET before the application process to avoid any grievances.
