Aegean Aquaculture Exports Surpass Two Billion Dollar Mark

The Aegean Exporters' Association of Fishery and Animal Products announced that its exports increased by 13.5% to $2 billion and 1 million, reaching a historic record.
Historic Two Billion Dollar Barrier Broken in Exports
According to data from the Aegean Exporters' Associations (EİB), the Aegean Exporters' Association of Fishery and Animal Products, which has maintained its leadership in food exports for five years, has achieved a historic record. As stated by the Association's President Ufuk Atakan Demir, foreign sales increased from $1.763 billion to $2 billion and 1 million in the last year. With this 13.5% increase, the association became the entity with the highest export growth among the 12 associations within EİB. Thus, it earned the title of the first food association to surpass the $2 billion threshold.
Distribution of Fishery and Animal Product Categories
According to EİB data, the aquaculture sector constituted 80% of total exports with a share of $1.596 billion. On a product basis, sea bass generated $682 million, sea bream $524 million, and Turkish salmon $253 million in revenue. In animal products, the egg sector reached $169.5 million, the poultry sector $137.5 million, dairy products $39.5 million, and honey $15.5 million. Sales were made to 122 countries in the period of August 14, 2025 - August 13, 2026. Italy, with $255 million, Russia with $241 million, and Greece with $236 million were the top three destinations.
