Quality Silage and Feed Training Provided to Producers in Menteşe

Producers growing subsidized silage corn in Muğla's Menteşe district received training on correct harvesting, fermentation, and quality feed preparation techniques.
An informational session was held for 20 producers in Avcılar Neighborhood, Menteşe, Muğla, who had previously benefited from a 75% subsidized high-yield hybrid silage corn seed program. During the training, the critical importance of harvesting corn at the right time for quality silage production was emphasized; producers were informed about maintaining the ideal moisture level, ensuring adequate compaction of the product, and completely cutting off its contact with air.
The informational meeting also drew attention to conducting the fermentation process in accordance with its rules for the proper preservation of silage without spoilage. The study, which also addressed the effects of quality roughage on animal nutrition and operational efficiency, aims to ensure that farmers who received seed support complete their production process with the highest possible yield.
