Hazelnut producers who gathered in Sakarya's Kocaali district took to the streets to protest the purchase prices set by the Turkish Grain Board (TMO) and market purchasing practices. Organizing an extensive convoy with the participation of approximately 130 tractors, producers attempted to make their voices heard by officials. Throughout the action, producers stated that the base prices offered were insufficient in the face of rising input costs. Farmers demanded that purchasing criteria be made more transparent and that payments for delivered products be made in a shorter timeframe.
