Record Increase in Livestock Support Budget
Budget increases are accelerating in producer support policies implemented by the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry. According to the 2027 Presidential Annual Program data, the agricultural support budget for 2026 is expected to reach 167.6 billion lira by the end of the year. Next year, the total agricultural support budget will be increased by 40.2% to 235 billion lira. Yield and Breeding Focused Coefficients
In line with presidential decisions, a basin-based production model has been developed to increase productivity and ensure animal health in livestock. With the regulation published in the Official Gazette dated September 7, 2026, new technical criteria have been introduced to the support system. In this context, additional coefficients have been defined for calves and lambs born through embryo transfer and sex-sorted semen applications. Furthermore, additional support has been provided for female breeding calves that have undergone genomic testing, lambs and kids born in certified herds, and raw milk sold by certified collectors.

Pasture Improvement and Domestic Vaccine Production
Pasture improvement projects to meet the demand for quality roughage and increase grazing capacity have been accelerated. Following the completion of identification and demarcation processes, technical applications are being implemented to increase grass yield and nutritional quality in pastures. With the construction of grazing support structures, improvement efforts are being carried out with an integrated approach on the ground. Within the scope of combating animal diseases, efforts are underway to establish a new domestic vaccine production facility within the Etlik Veterinary Control Center Research Institute Directorate in Ankara.
Insurance Support for Agricultural Frost Losses
Direct payments were made to farmers through insurance and compensation mechanisms to heal the wounds caused by the recent agricultural frost disaster. According to the 2027 Presidential Annual Program data, 23.1 billion lira in damage compensation and 23.86 billion lira in support payments were disbursed to producers with state-supported agricultural insurance. Thus, a total of 47 billion lira in resources was provided to producers affected by frost.
