Located within the borders of Bitlis, Nemrut Caldera has been declared Turkey's 53rd national park and placed under protection by presidential decree.
Nemrut Caldera, a natural wonder located within the borders of Bitlis's Tatvan, Ahlat, and Güroymak districts, has officially achieved the status of Turkey's 53rd national park through a presidential decree.
Minister of Agriculture and Forestry İbrahim Yumaklı shared the development with the public, stating:
Protecting nature is the most valuable legacy we can leave for our future. The enchanting Nemrut Caldera, located within the borders of Tatvan, Ahlat, and Güroymak in Bitlis, has become our country's 53rd national park by the decision of our President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. The region's unique beauties will be protected with the power of the climate of peace, cleansed of terror, and through the meticulous work of our teams from the General Directorate of Nature Conservation and National Parks. May it be auspicious for our country's nature tourism, ecological richness, and the peaceful tomorrows of a terror-free Turkey.
