Farmers Received 106 Billion Lira in Support in the First Half

The Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry disbursed a total of 106 billion 22 million lira in support payments to 2.9 million registered producers in the first 6 months of the year.

Record Support in the First Six Months

According to official data compiled from the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry's statistics bulletin, support payments provided to producers continue uninterrupted with the aim of strengthening agricultural production. While the total agricultural support budget set for this year reached 167.6 billion lira, 2.9 million registered producers benefited from the support items offered. The total amount of funds transferred to farmers' bank accounts in the first 6 months of the year reached 106 billion 22 million lira. With these regular payments, the financing needs of producers against input costs are met, aiming to ensure the uninterrupted protection of agricultural production capacity and supply security.

Sectoral Support Distribution and Items

The crop production sector received the largest share of the support payments transferred to accounts in the first 6 months of the year. According to the bulletin data published by the Ministry, 79.6% of the payments were allocated to crop production, 18.1% to animal husbandry, 1.7% to rural development, 0.3% to agricultural R&D activities, and 0.3% to the aquaculture sector. In monetary terms, 84 billion 397 million lira was transferred to crop production, with 44 billion 583 million lira paid for basic support payments within this scope. A total of 19 billion 216 million lira was provided for animal husbandry, with 7 billion 963 million lira for cattle farming, 1 billion 770 million lira for rural development, 354 million lira for agricultural R&D studies, and 285 million lira allocated for aquaculture.

Payments Made in the Second Quarter

In the second quarter of the year, covering April-June, approximately 32 billion 392 million lira was transferred for planned production in the crop production area, 17 billion 286 million lira for basic support items, and 2 billion 595 million lira for tea pruning compensation. In animal husbandry activities, 7 billion 963 million lira was paid for cattle breeding and 6 billion 330 million lira for small ruminant husbandry. According to Ministry data, 629 million lira was also provided for rural development investments, 145 million lira for small-scale fishing activities, 118 million lira for agricultural consultancy services, and 39 million lira for the protection of animal genetic resources.
