Fire Warning for Three Regions
Minister of Agriculture and Forestry İbrahim Yumaklı announced that the coming days will be extremely critical in terms of forest fires for the Marmara, Aegean, and West Mediterranean regions. Drawing attention to meteorological data, Minister Yumaklı emphasized that the expected strong winds, high temperatures, and low humidity between August 28-30 significantly increase the fire risk. Authorities have reported that a state of alert is necessary, especially in rural areas and agricultural lands bordering forests.
Stubble and Garden Waste Appeal to Producers
Calling on citizens and producers to be vigilant, Minister of Agriculture and Forestry İbrahim Yumaklı stated:
"According to meteorological data, strong winds, high temperatures, and low humidity expected to be effective in Marmara, Aegean, and West Mediterranean between August 28-30 are increasing the forest fire risk. Let's absolutely not light fires in and around forested areas. Let's not throw flammable materials into dry grassy areas. Let's refrain from activities such as burning stubble and garden waste. Let's report the slightest smoke or suspicious situation to the 112 Emergency Call Center immediately. While all the resources of our state and the dedicated efforts of our forest heroes continue resolutely, it should not be forgotten that our greatest strength in preventing fires lies in the vigilance of our citizens."
