TÜRKŞEKER Completes 30-Year Revamp at Burdur Factory

TÜRKŞEKER has completed the most comprehensive overhaul and modernization of its Burdur Sugar Factory in the last 30 years, commencing sugar beet processing for the new campaign period.

Extensive Renovation at Burdur Sugar Factory

Turkish Sugar Factories Corporation (TÜRKŞEKER) announced the completion of its most comprehensive revision and modernization process in the last 30 years at the Burdur Sugar Factory. Technical works, carried out with the support of the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry since June, including assembly, testing, and control processes, were finalized without any setbacks. Dr. Muhiddin Şahin, Chairman of the Board and General Manager of TÜRKŞEKER, made the following assessment regarding the factory's status:

'We have completed the most comprehensive revision work in the last 30 years at our Burdur Sugar Factory. Our factory has started processing sugar beets. With this investment, we have increased our production capacity in Burdur and provided a more efficient factory for the region's producers.'

Sugar Beet Intake and Campaign Process

Following the renovation works, the facility has officially commenced sugar production, entering the new campaign period at full capacity. The institution's information stated that the factory will operate with its strengthened operational infrastructure during the 2026/2027 campaign period. Thanks to the modernized machinery and control systems, the facility will process the sugar beets harvested by producers in the region according to the planned schedule and in an orderly manner. TÜRKŞEKER announced that these completed investments aim to provide long-term contributions to the sustainability of agricultural production and the efficiency of beet producers in the Burdur basin.
