Dried Fig Season Opens in Söke at 600 Lira

The first dried figs of the 2026 season in Söke district of Aydın were symbolically sold at 600 TL per kilogram, with an estimated harvest of approximately 1,014 tons expected in the district this year.
The first product of the 2026 dried fig season in Söke district of Aydın was symbolically sold at 600 TL per kilogram at a ceremony held at the Söke Commodity Exchange. Producer Yusuf Ene presented the first dried figs of the new season to the market.
According to data shared by Ahmet Nejat Sağel, Chairman of the Söke Commodity Exchange, a total harvest of 1,014 tons is expected from 33,800 fig trees cultivated by 101 producers on approximately 1,165 decares in the district. Production is reported to be concentrated mainly in the Yamaç and Argavlı neighborhoods.
