High Peanut Yield in Adana Despite Price Drop
· Dünya Gazetesi

Despite a productive harvest in Adana, Turkey's peanut production hub, prices have rapidly fallen to 60 Turkish Lira per kilogram as traders halt purchases.
Harvest is continuing with intensive labor in Adana, which meets 60% of Turkey's peanut needs. The products, grown on approximately 20,000 decares in the Kozan district, are laid out in the fields for drying and sorting. Peanuts, which found buyers at 100-110 Turkish Lira per kilogram in the first harvest of the season, experienced a sharp depreciation in value shortly after. Farmer Adil Eker, stating that the yield from his field was high, described the situation with the following words:
Although the yield in the fields is promising, the price drop in the market has led to significant hardship for producers. Due to the halt in purchases by traders in the region, the product price has fallen to 60-70 Turkish Lira. Farmer Adil Eker, drawing attention to the pressure in the market, expressed his reaction:
