Falling Farmer Income Boosts Demand for Small Tractors
· Tarım Dünyası

Rising input costs and high financing rates are squeezing farmers' profit margins, accelerating a shift towards economical sub-50 horsepower tractor models in the market.
In recent years, environmental factors such as drought and water scarcity linked to the climate crisis, as well as geopolitical conflicts in the Middle East, have driven up agricultural production costs. Sharp increases in diesel, seed, and chemical fertilizer prices are straining farmers' budgets. The purchasing power of producers is rapidly eroding as product sales prices fail to cover cost increases. This economic pressure is fundamentally altering agricultural mechanization preferences, leading farmers to opt for more economical tractor models with lower horsepower.
AGCO Group, the parent company of Fendt, Massey Ferguson, and Valtra brands, has developed the MF 7S MARK 2 series to meet market demands. Agricultural journalists from Turkey also attended the international press launch held in Boutencourt, near Beauvais, France. It was announced that the new models exhibited at the launch would be presented to a wider audience at the EIMA Fair in Bologna, Italy, in November. Company officials announced that mass production and the first global deliveries of the new series will commence in the spring of 2027.
