105,000 Fingerlings Released into Six Reservoirs in Karabük

As part of a project by the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, 105,000 fingerlings were released into 6 different reservoirs in Karabük to strengthen inland water ecosystems and fish stocks.
Stocking Operation in Inland Waters
A comprehensive study has been implemented across Karabük within the scope of the 'Stocking of Water Resources Project' carried out by the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry. According to the Ministry's statement, a total of 105,000 fingerlings were released into the water resources of the city to protect aquatic resources and ensure the sustainability of fish stocks in inland waters. This activity aims to support natural life and transfer healthy water ecosystems to future generations.
Fish Release Conducted in Six Reservoirs
In line with the field studies conducted, a total of 6 reservoirs identified in different districts of Karabük were stocked with fingerlings. Within the program, fish were released into Hatipoğlu Reservoir in the Ovacık district, Ova Reservoir in the Eskipazar district, and Bostancı, Kadıköy, Ortakcılar, and Gökgöz reservoirs in the Eflani district. The implemented practices aim to develop inland fisheries and to preserve and enrich the biological balance in the reservoirs.
Participation at the Protocol Level
A special release program was organized at Hatipoğlu Reservoir in the Ovacık district within the framework of the project. The event was attended by Ovacık District Governor Öznur Güler Kıyak, Ovacık Mayor Ahmet Şahin, Deputy Provincial Director Fatoş Şahin, Ovacık District Director Ramazan Şahin, Head of Animal Health, Husbandry, and Aquaculture Branch Erhan Yüzbaşıoğlu, and technical personnel. With the officials releasing the fingerlings into the reservoir, the process of increasing the fish population in the region was officially initiated.
