Hazelnut Producers Flock to TMO Purchase Points in Ordu

The Turkish Grain Board's (TMO) base price of an average of 250 Turkish Lira has created producer density at purchase centers in Ordu due to the 70 Lira difference with the free market.

A significant surge in activity is being witnessed at the Turkish Grain Board's (TMO) purchase points and warehouses across Ordu, following the institution's commencement of buying shelled hazelnuts at an average price of 250 Lira per kilogram. Detailed quality controls are meticulously carried out before deliveries by producers bringing their post-harvest crops. The final amounts, determined after yield measurements by TMO experts, are directly transferred to the producers' bank accounts. The purchase conditions offered by the institution are creating a significant balance in favor of producers in the region's hazelnut market.

Haki Uğur, a producer from Günören Neighborhood in the Altınordu district, stated that he received the reward for his orchard's maintenance, delivering his product with a 53.5 yield at a price exceeding 260 Lira to TMO. Evaluating the process, Hazelnut Producer Haki Uğur said:
