Farmers Received 115.5 Billion Lira in Support Over Nine Months

According to data from the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, a total of 115 billion 496 million lira in support payments were made to approximately 3 million producers in the first nine months of 2026.

115 Billion Lira Paid in Nine Months

Support payments to producers continue uninterrupted to strengthen agricultural production, according to data compiled from the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry's statistics bulletin. Within the scope of agricultural support, benefiting approximately 3 million farmers across Turkey, a significant portion of the total budget of 167.6 billion lira set for 2026 has been disbursed. In the first 9 months of the year, a total of 115 billion 496 million lira was deposited into producers' accounts. The support budget directly covered crop and animal production, rural development, agricultural R&D, and aquatic products.

Significant Share for Crop and Animal Production

According to the Ministry's data, crop production accounted for the largest share of support payments made in the 9-month period, at 73.3%, with 84 billion 655 million lira allocated to this sector. Basic support payments for crop production amounted to approximately 44 billion 593 million lira. Animal production, constituting 23.5% of the payments, received 27 billion 136 million lira in funding. Calf support stood out in livestock with 12 billion 14 million lira. Rural development received 3 billion 13 million lira, R&D received 407 million lira, and aquatic products received 285 million lira.

Notable Support in the Third Quarter

In the third quarter of the year, covering the July-September period, a rental support of 47 million lira was provided for products stored in licensed warehouses within crop production. In the animal production category, 4 billion 51 million lira was paid for cattle farming and 1 billion 95 million lira for small ruminant farming during the same period. Additionally, approximately 1 billion 325 million lira was allocated for animal and herd health, and 1 billion 139 million lira for animal disease compensation. The amount paid to farmers for rural development investments in the third quarter reached 1 billion 232 million lira.
