Gaziantep Receives 64 Million Lira Grant Support for Modern Irrigation

Over 64.3 million lira in grant funding has been allocated to 262 modern irrigation projects approved in Gaziantep within the scope of Rural Development Supports.

Within the scope of Rural Development Supports, carried out by the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, the transition of producers in Gaziantep to modern irrigation infrastructure continues to be supported without interruption. A grant allocation totaling 64,394,981 TL has been designated for 262 projects found eligible among the applications evaluated within the framework of the 2026 program. This financing, provided under the coordination of the Ministry, aims to ensure much more efficient water use in agricultural production, reduce irrigation costs for farmers, and popularize modern techniques throughout the region.

The official contract signing process for beneficiary producers whose projects have been approved will be held between September 18-28, 2026. According to data from the Gaziantep Provincial Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry, 5,781 pressurized irrigation system projects were implemented on 478 thousand decares of agricultural land between 2008 and 2025, with farmers receiving 358,452,700 TL in grants. The Provincial Directorate announced that it will continue modernization efforts uninterruptedly to strengthen sustainable agricultural production.
