Agricultural Producer Prices Declined 0.93% in August

According to TurkStat data, the Agricultural Products Producer Price Index decreased by 0.93% month-on-month in August, while the annual increase rate stood at 21.91%.

According to August 2026 data shared by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TurkStat), the Agricultural Products Producer Price Index decreased by 0.93% compared to the previous month, settling at 1,115.00. TurkStat data indicates that the index increased by 9.20% compared to December of the previous year, and by 21.91% compared to the same month last year, and by 33.47% on a 12-month average. Thus, despite a limited pullback in producer prices on a monthly basis, the upward trend in annual and long-term indicators continued.

When examined on a sectoral basis, a monthly decrease of 0.86% was recorded in services related to agricultural and hunting products, 1.74% in forestry products, and 1.77% in fisheries and aquatic products. On an annual basis, forestry products increased by 32.52% and the fisheries and aquatic products sector by 23.86%. Among the main groups, annual crops decreased by 6.23% monthly while showing a 40.65% annual increase; in contrast, perennial crops rose by 3.22% monthly and decreased by 8.08% annually.

In the live animals and animal products group, producer prices increased by 2.00% on a monthly basis, with the annual increase rate realized at 37.41%. According to TurkStat data, the sharpest annual rise among subgroups was recorded in the group of vegetables, melons-watermelons, roots, and tubers at 69.99%. The most notable monthly increase was measured at 153.75% in the tropical and subtropical fruits subgroup, significantly diverging from the general index's 0.93% decrease.
