Turkish Hazelnut Exports Surpass $2.5 Billion

Turkey generated over $2.5 billion in foreign currency revenue with 197,085 tons of shelled hazelnut exports in the 2025-2026 season, while Germany maintained its position as the primary market.

Hazelnut Exports Generate $2.5 Billion in Revenue

Data for the 2025-2026 export season for hazelnuts, one of Turkey's strategic agricultural products, has been released. According to data from the Black Sea Hazelnut and Hazelnut Products Exporters' Association, products were sent to 120 countries and free zones during the season spanning September 1, 2025, to August 31, 2026. Turkey exported a total of 197,085 tons of shelled hazelnuts during this period, generating $2,509,526,039 in foreign currency revenue.

Germany Maintains Top Position

According to the Black Sea Hazelnut and Hazelnut Products Exporters' Association records, Germany was by far the largest importer of Turkish hazelnuts. Throughout the season, 56,335 tons of hazelnuts were shipped to the German market. In return for these sales, Turkey earned $730,955,988 in foreign currency revenue from Germany. Thus, Germany continued its leadership, ranking first in both volume and revenue.

European Market and Other Countries

Italy followed on the export list, with 31,201 tons accounting for $395,264,674 in revenue. France ranked third, with 10,500 tons of hazelnuts sold for $147,324,404 in revenue. The countries with the lowest exports during the season were recorded as Chile and Gambia, with symbolic sales of 5 kilograms each.
