TÜRKŞEKER Launches New Campaign Period at Yozgat Factory

Yozgat Sugar Factory has commenced its 29th campaign procurement for the 2026-2027 period, aiming to process approximately 335,000 tons of sugar beet from 1,829 producers across 101 villages.

Yozgat Sugar Factory officially launched its 29th sugar beet procurement campaign for the 2026-2027 production year on September 28, 2026, with a ceremony held at the factory premises. Following the ceremony, attended by Factory Manager Yusuf Gocuklu, Sorgun District Agriculture and Forestry Manager Yusuf Canbolat, and representatives from agricultural cooperatives and labor unions, the scales at the facility were activated for procurement operations. Evaluating the new procurement season, TÜRKŞEKER Chairman of the Board and General Manager Dr. Muhiddin Şahin stated:

According to data shared by Factory Manager Yusuf Gocuklu, sugar beet cultivation for this production season took place in six different regions: Sorgun Merkez, Akdağmadeni, Çekerek, Kadışehri, Sarıkaya, and Şefaatli. Sugar beet was planted on 51,140 decares of agricultural land by 1,829 registered farmers in 101 villages across Yozgat. Approximately 335,000 tons of sugar beet are planned to be processed during this campaign period at the facility. The factory management aims to obtain 48,000 tons of crystal sugar, 14,000 tons of molasses, and 107,000 tons of wet beet pulp from the raw material to be processed.

During the opening ceremony, it was particularly noted that the factory's 29th procurement period coincides with the 100th anniversary of the Turkish sugar industry, established in 1926. Officials speaking at the campaign opening expressed their hope that the entire processing period would be completed without accidents and in compliance with the specified technical standards. Following prayers and a sacrificial animal slaughter, gifts were presented by protocol members to Mesut Erol, Hilal Şener, Emre Temizcan, and Muhammed Özdemir, among the producers who made the first deliveries of the season's beet to the factory. With the first products passing through the scales, the 2026-2027 processing season officially began at the factory.
