Turkey Begins Bay Leaf Exports to China

A protocol signed between the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry and the General Administration of Customs of China has paved the way for bay leaf exports from Turkey to China.
Following official negotiations between the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry and the General Administration of Customs of the People's Republic of China, a protocol regarding the export of bay leaves from Turkey to China was signed. With the signing process, which was completed after technical meetings held in July, the trade line between the two countries has been formalized.
The signed agreement has clarified the technical and phytosanitary criteria that bay leaves to be shipped from Turkey to the Chinese market must meet. The Ministry announced that technical negotiations are ongoing with China for different product groups as well, aiming to expand export opportunities for agricultural and food products and remove technical barriers to trade.
